Andy & Czarina got Married at Prestonfield House in Edinburgh. It was a small intimate wedding. The couple live in Jakarta now and a lot of Czarina's family came over from Hong Kong and the USA. It was a beautiful sunny relaxed day with an outside ceremony with a good mix of Scottish and Chinese traditions.

First time shooting Oxenfoord and it was a beauty. Matt and Katie got married at Cranston Church which is at the entrance to Oxenfoord then all the guests were piped down a stunning avenue of trees to the lawn for the reception. Amazing place for an exclusive wedding set In the midst of glorious park and woodland,
Architecture by Robert Adam and William Burn, incorporates a large ‘Castle Style’ tower with corner turrets and intermediate bow windows.

These guys are the best - My kind of peeps !
Pee'd down all day and not one hoot was given ! As always The Royal Botanic Gardens looks stunning in any season. Gaynor maybe did not get her outside ceremony but it wouldn't matter where the ceremony was as all eyes were on Gaynor and Chris. We found a few dry spots under a canopy of trees for the family photos and for couple shots G+C were happy to wander around in the light rain. Great fun, great couple and a great party.
Dundas Castle
I knew I was going to love this wedding soon as soon as I met Rachel and Fraser. After meeting them I found out that they met working on cruise ships which is where I met my girlfriend a good 14 years ago, also Fraser is originally from a few miles down the road where I grew up on the Solway coast, and best of all Rachel is a dancer on ships and if anyone has ever worked on cruise ships then you will know the dancers are great fun and not shy of a camera or a good party !! They got married at Dundas Castle which is an amazing Scottish Castle overlooking the Forth bridges. Rachel is Jewish so there was quite a few traditions that needed to be captured - again my girlfriend is Jewish so I was aware of all traditions. Loved that all the men wore a tartan Kippah's. Also Frasers dad made the Chuppah - the canopy they stood under during the ceremony. The only time when the two traditions never really worked out so well together is when Fraser went kilted comando which is a Scottish tradition, but unfortunately during the Hora which is the chair dance! The best mans speech was a peach, and luckily a lot of the US guests never quite got the Dalbeattie slant it was delivered in. Another great wedding, and great couple.

Nothing more amazing than a Home Farm Wedding. Lindsay and Lewis had a scorching day for their wedding in Perthshire on Pittcarmick Estate. The setting was beautiful, they had the ceremony in an old steading, then a marquee for the dinner and dancing - although most people were outside all day enjoying the rare Scottish summer. I also saw one of my favourite things ever at a wedding - 2 of my previous wedding couples and with kids on tow !!

Congratulations Lindsay and Lewis.

Sophie & Robert.
I photographed Sophie getting ready in the house that she grew up in - I always find this nice to document - even just the small details evoke more personal memories in your photographs. Planet Flowers done a stellar job of the flowers which reminded Sophie of her Grandparents garden. I arrived while make up and hair was in full swing. Hair was by Boom and make up by Lynsey Sheills , Sophie's dress was by Rachel Scott Couture. Mother wore Lois Sturgeon
The guys looked pretty dapper in their Walker Slater suits. They decided on watching the football in the morning rather than getting there early for photos which every man should be allowed to do as he pleases on the morning of his big day ! We got tons of photos of the guys looking sharp throughout the day so all was good.
The Ceremony looked amazing as ever at Mansfield Traquair with all the fairy lights down which looks great in the ceremony shots and as a backdrop for the top table.
Ecosse Classic cars provided the transport for the day and the Bentleys looked great - we went out for a wee drive around after the ceremony to get some shots.

Roxburghe Hotel
Canadian couple Jen and Bob got Married at Roxburgh Hotel near Kelso. I first chatted to these guys through a Skype chat, then met them the week of the wedding at the Venue which was the first time that they had both seen the Roxburghe in person. We went for a wander around and decided on some locations for the photos. The grounds at The Roxburghe were stunning and the cherry blossom was still out which we wanted to use in their photography. We also found a nice yellow canola field that Jen was happy to head to for some photos. The guests who were all staying at the venue headed out before the ceremony for a spot of clay pigeon shooting. The day was stunning and the ceremony room looked amazing - flowers by Dorothy from the amazing Forget me not Flower Farm. Was a cracking day, alway nice to see the weather shine when there is so many guests coming in from overseas.

My first outdoor ceremony of the year !
Jen and Richard got Married at Ardanaiseig on the banks of Loch Awe with some close family friends and their 2 dogs. Oscar the older of the dogs was the ring bearer. It was so hot I spotted one of the guests putting sunscreen on her kids and went hand out begging for some sunscreen !!
Such a beautiful setting. I have shot at Ardanaiseig once before in Winter so was nice to see the colours of so many wild flowers in the summer. Such a nice place for a small intimate wedding with all their guests staying the whole weekend. The bluebells were just in peak season so was nice to see everyone appreciating everything Scottish. Jen and Richard looked like they had the best time ever and it was important to get their children and family in lots of shots. Once again we made use of the later evening light for 10 minutes and went out for a run around the grounds. I was working alongside John from Leven Films . Cant wait to head back.

You know when you are about to blog your images and they have daffodils and snow in them and it is now mid June then you are behind in blogging! This was my first time shooting Boturich Castle overlooking Loch Lomond. It was stunning, and hot for April and still had a nice cap of snow still on Ben Lomond.
Maria and Davey got married in St Andrews Cathedral in Glasgow then a nice wee drive up North in a vintage Bently that Davy got as a surprise for Maria. I think that when all your guests take a selfie with the surrounding hills and views in the background then you have picked a winner of a venue.
As the weather was so changeable during the group shots and initial couple shots going from harsh sun to rain and wind we ventured outside again after the meal and managed to get some really nice late evening light for the couple shots, I always find this is the best time for couple shots at this time of year and a few glasses of fizz always helps make it a bit of fun. A big shout out to the Bridesmen or Manmaids who were on hand to keep the dress from getting to grassy !

Kevin & Susan got Married last month at Glasgow University, followed by a reception in Edinburgh at The Balmoral hotel simply because it is their favourite hotel. I shot their pre shoot up Arthurs seat just a few weeks prior which keeps everything nice a fresh with the photographer and they were both really chilled and relaxed on the day in front of the camera. We also managed to get outside after the meal for about five minutes of amazing light topped off with a rainbow. Here is how their day went.

Jenny and Luke got hitched at The Balmoral in Edinburgh last week. They decided they wanted something more urban for their couple photos so we went a short walk around - inbetween the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. We met up for the pre shoot a few weeks before and decided on Waverley Station. We also liked the idea of heading over to The Arches. Although busy Waverley worked a treat - we found a quiet spot before a train emptied and got some good shots on the escalator. Thanks to a smoke detector going off everyone had to come outside due to the fire alarm going off and the fire brigade coming. Thankfully it was an amazing evening and was nice to get out into early evening sun. The fire brigade were also game for a few photos as well.

My first time shooting The Byre at Inchyra which recently opened. Situated in the heart of Perthshire, it's infinitely more than a barn venue because you have 150 acres to play with. We were spoiled for choice for photos. There was the main house where the girls got ready, the barn which housed the relaxed ceremony and then there was so many options for the couple photos.
