Winter weddings are usually amazing light or very flat to photograph in - Luckily for Rachel and Greg the sun came out - and we did not need to venture far to find the good light. Right out the back of One Devonshire Gardens provided a great setting for the couple shots. Such a nice laid back couple who were pretty nervous in the morning, but as soon as they saw each other - you could not wipe the smile off their faces all day.

My good friend and occasional second shooter Carley from Carley Buick Photography asked myself and Julie from Julie Tinton Photography to cover the photography duties at her own wedding. While Julie was shooting Carley and the girls in the morning - I met Fraz and the guys at The Raeburn in Stockbridge. Always pretty nerve-racking photographing a photographers wedding. It was a perfect Autumnal day and I enjoyed every minute from start to finish. Here is a wee sneak peek ! Check out all the venders below.

My first time shooting Fonab Castle Hotel in Pitlochry and it was perfect. The view from the Castle is breathtaking and especially slap bang in middle of Autumn. The ceremony was at Dunked Cathedral. It was pretty cold on the day and a wee bit rainy but after the ceremony Debbie and Dan took me to the other side of River Tummel and we got some great shots. Debbie was a trooper and did not mind the walk in the forest which many a bride would not have attempted at that time of year. My second shooter was Carly Buick from Carley Buick Photography.

A beautiful intimate ceremony at Archerfield House by Tim Maguire who always amazes me with his talents and done half the humanist ceremony in French for Sylvains family. Love the low winter light at this time of year especially in the rooms where Lara was getting ready in Archerfield.

When a DJ and a Comedian gets Married you know it is gonna be a good one. These guys smashed it from start to finish. Kinkell Byre was the perfect setting - It's not every wedding morning I get to chase a bunch of half naked girls through a hayfield but rather that than the kilt flashing guys on the beach - thanks to Carley (my second shooter) for this.
Tim Maguire performed a beautiful, funny and moving ceremony in an amazing space of the byre with thousands of fairy lights. Alana's dog Pongo even gave his blessing right on cue.
Alana and Luke hired a VW camper to hit the beach straight after the ceremony. The weather was perfect and we found a great wee beach not too far away. Shoes abandoned I just snapped away as they ran around the beach for a bit. Eileen from Sugar8 films came along with a classic old School super 8 cine camera - I cannot wait to see her footage.
After getting back to the drinks reception we shot a few groups next to the big red barn doors which was a lot of fun. During the speeches I usually hide behind my camera to hide any emotions and this was no exception. As the meal was finishing the light was perfect and I was pleasantly surprised when they decided (coaxed) to ditch the coffee and head out for some sundowner shots. We found the highest point outside looking down onto St Andrews and got some great romantic shots - however Luke was doing some serious Lion King impressions at the time.
Was great to see Mercedes and Agnes from Scarlet and Bell who kept everything on time and they set up the venue beautifully.
Such an amazing day with cracking banter -even made me change over from Radio 6 and listen to Alana and her twin sister aka The Mac Twins on Virgin Radio which just happens to play every Saturday usually around the time I am driving home from a Wedding.

Pee'd down all day and not one hoot was given ! As always The Royal Botanic Gardens looks stunning in any season. Gaynor maybe did not get her outside ceremony but it wouldn't matter where the ceremony was as all eyes were on Gaynor and Chris. We found a few dry spots under a canopy of trees for the family photos and for couple shots G+C were happy to wander around in the light rain. Great fun, great couple and a great party.
I knew I was going to love this wedding soon as soon as I met Rachel and Fraser. After meeting them I found out that they met working on cruise ships which is where I met my girlfriend a good 14 years ago, also Fraser is originally from a few miles down the road where I grew up on the Solway coast, and best of all Rachel is a dancer on ships and if anyone has ever worked on cruise ships then you will know the dancers are great fun and not shy of a camera or a good party !! They got married at Dundas Castle which is an amazing Scottish Castle overlooking the Forth bridges. Rachel is Jewish so there was quite a few traditions that needed to be captured - again my girlfriend is Jewish so I was aware of all traditions. Loved that all the men wore a tartan Kippah's. Also Frasers dad made the Chuppah - the canopy they stood under during the ceremony. The only time when the two traditions never really worked out so well together is when Fraser went kilted comando which is a Scottish tradition, but unfortunately during the Hora which is the chair dance! The best mans speech was a peach, and luckily a lot of the US guests never quite got the Dalbeattie slant it was delivered in. Another great wedding, and great couple.
